Playing out your amp

Posted on July 10, 2010 Posted in: Blog

If your playing at a big show or festival, and your amp is mic’ed over a large p.a., chances are your amp wont be heard by the crowd exept through the p.a. Angle it back and face it toward you. Its a great idea if you use small amps like I do. Not so good if your playing through a stack!

Angling your amp back behind you is also great. In a small to medium sized club, the audience doesn’t get clobbered with hi-end from your amp. Its good to keep your amp from being pointed straight at the audience or the sound man. Aim it at you and all is well. Watch the volume. Hearing loss SUCKS!
